Pastor Sam Walker,
Senior Pastor, Church on the Rock North
Though Sam
Walker now serves as Senior Pastor of Church on the Rock
North
in Beaumont, Texas, his
full-time ministry began in
September of 1983 when
he accepted the position of
Associate Pastor of a new church in Quitman, Texas
called Church on the Rock. After serving approximately
seven years in that roll, Pastor Sam agreed to accept
the responsibility of Senior Pastor of the Quitman
church and served in that position for another seven
years. This COTR affiliate church was the first official
church plant through the organization that is now known
as Church on the Rock International.
In June of
1997, Sam took over the Senior Pastor responsibilities
of Church on
the Rock North in Beaumont. This growing
church was birthed by Pastor Ron Hammonds and the Church
on the Rock family in Beaumont, Texas. Since Pastor
Sam's arrival, COTR North has steadily grown in attendance from
50 to well over 425 active members.
Pastor Sam
holds a Bachelor of Ministry degree with Covington
Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia. He also serves on the
Advisory Board of
Christ for India. He also serves on the Ambassadors
Network of
Global Advance, traveling around the world
training frontline shepherds and church leaders.
Pastor Sam
is also the President of
Agua
Resources
whose sole
purpose is to bring fresh water to the needy people of
Mexico. Agua Resources has drilled over 100 wells and is
providing free fresh water access to approximately
75,000 Mexican people.
Pastor Sam
has been married to his wife Beverly for over twenty eight
years and they have three wonderful children, Staci,
Nathan, and Laura Beth. All three faithfully serve
Church on the Rock North family in numerous volunteer positions.
